US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced on its blog that Dogecoin is now supported on the Coinbase Wallet app.
Siddharth Coelho-Prabhu, wallet product lead at Coinbase, wrote that Coinbase Wallet users can begin storing DOGE on the app.
DOGE joins other cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum Classic, XRP, and Stellar Lumens that are also supported on Coinbase Wallet.
Coelho-Prabhu added that the app will also allow developers and power users to switch to the DOGE testnet.
Dogecoin is an open source peer-to-peer digital currency that was introduced as a joke currency in 2013 but later grew and reached a value of $60 million in 2014.
Its logo takes on the image of a Shiba Inu meme that became popular worldwide through the internet.
The cryptocurrency was developed by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer based on LuckyCoin, which is also based on Litecoin.
