Block.one, the private company behind the EOSIO platform, has introduced a social medium platform called Voice, which will be built on the EOS public blockchain to further promote transparency in the online world.
“Being built on the EOS Public Blockchain, which runs on the EOSIO protocol, means that interactions on Voice will be public, allows for transparency to be a core part of the experience,” the Cayman Islands-based firm said on its website.
Block.one CEO Brendan Blumer unveiled the the app during the company’s event in Washington, D.C., on June 1.
“The truth is, current social media platforms are designed to use their users,” he said.
Blumer explained Voice will be designed to change the way social media platforms are being operated, which usually involves auctioning information to advertisers, pocketing profit, and flooding feeds with hidden agendas dictated by high bidders.
The company added that it is working on launching an upgraded version of the EOISIO protocol called EOS-VM, which will be programmed to process smart contracts 12 times faster than the first EOS protocol.
Yubico’s Yubikey will be one of the hardware security keys that will be built into EOS-VM.
