Players of online multiplayer battle royale game PUBG, acronym for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, will now be able to earn blockchain-based rewards thanks to PUBG Corporation’s partnership with Refereum.
Refereum said via Medium PUBG players will be rewarded with RFR tokens for completing in-game challenges and generally streaming the game on platforms such as Twitch and Mixer.
Players can then, in turn, used their earned RFR tokens to purchase in-game items such as weapons or skins and tip streamers.
As part of their newly formed partnership, Refereum and PUBG will be giving away $5,000 worth of rewards for streaming and playing the online game.
The initial campaign will run through Aug. 20, according to a report published by CoinDesk.
Refereum has previously supported other popular video games such as State of Decay 2, Fortnight, Apex Legends, and the Battlefield.
