Stryking Entertainment, FC Bayern Munich Partner to Create Digital Collectibles

Animoca Brands subsidiary Stryking Entertainment recently formed an agreement with FC Bayern Munich to create non-fungible tokens based on the German football club’s players.

Stryking said via Medium that its fantasy sports challenge system for Football-Stars will be used as the gameplay for the NFT player cards, which players can sell or use to beat other players in special challenges.

Users can also make virtual line-ups with their player cards and compete with the line-ups of other users.

The cards will bear the likeness of FC Bayern Munich players such as Manuel Neuer, Robert Lewandowski, Philippe Coutinho, and Lucas Hernández.

Stryking noted that it will announce more licensing partnerships with various sports clubs, leagues, and other sports rights holders in the future to develop and distribute NFT digital collectibles.

“Our vision is to build a truly global hub where sports fans meet to collect and trade as well as play with their digital collectibles,” said Dirk Weyel, founder and CEO of Stryking.
