The Sandbox has sold all of its 6,192 LANDs to 418 unique users during its second pre-sale round, accumulating more than 850 ETH or $239,000 of earnings.
The blockchain-based voxel art development platform said in its announcement that around 90 percent of the LANDs were already sold, generating a total of 667 ETH or almost $188,000, in just under an hour since the second pre-sale was launched.
The LANDs offered during the sale represented 5 percent total parcels available for sale on The Sandbox map.
The Sandbox organized its first LANDs pre-sale in December, selling out more than 3,000 LANDs in just 4 hours.
Sebastien Borget, chief operations officer and co-founder of The Sandbox, said:
The success of the first two presales of The Sandbox strongly validates our approach to building a gaming metaverse, showing the growing interest from creators and gamers in the benefits of true digital ownership that will allow them to monetize their future creations within an open economy.
The gaming platform is set on holding its third pre-sale for LANDs in the near future, including more features, LANDs, and partners.
The Sandbox is enabling players, creators, and crypto enthusiasts acquire a piece of its metaverse through its LAND pre-sales, which also includes exclusive non-fungible token type assets such as characters, animals, monuments, buildings, trees, and tools.
Players can use their acquired LANDs to monetize game experiences, develop virtual properties, stake, and rent their LAND.
