Dapper Labs, the game developer behind collectible blockchain game CryptoKitties, has agreed to develop mixed martial arts-themed digital assets and a DApp game as part of an agreement with Ultimate Fighting Championship or UFC.
According to the announcement, the crypto-backed digital assets will be deployed on Flow, a platform Dapper Labs created to host and support various decentralized apps and games and their reward and trading systems.
Flow will enable UFC to offer unique or limited edition items, digital assets trading, and games that where players can pose as real stakeholders.
The blockchain platform said:
UFC is one of the fastest growing sports of the last decade with 314 million global fans and fighters in over 35 countries. UFC fans are some of the most loyal and passionate in the world of sports — this makes a blockchain experience a natural next step for the franchise.
Dapper Labs unveiled Flow in September 2019.
Dapper Labs CEO Roham Gharegozlou noted when the blockchain platform was released that it was intended to help eliminate issues with interactivity between smart contracts in games or social networks due to blockchain sharding.
