According to the announcement, the initiative is one way to encourage game players to practice social distancing in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recently, we’ve seen a surge in the global consumption of live streaming fundraisers, virtual charity concerts, and celebrity performances taking to streaming platforms in order to connect with their fans and support each other during these times. As we’re spending more and more time indoors, it’s equally important we stay mentally strong, supported, and entertained during this time.
Users will be rewarded with RFR and other tokens when they watch DLive streamers and join their Hub on Refereum.
The first 100 users who will stream on DLive and create a Hub on Refereum themselves will also be rewarded with 1,000 Lemons in their DLive account.
Through this project, DLive and Refereum also aim to help streamers and content creators properly monetize their videos and earn income during this time.
Dylan Jones, CEO of Refereum, noted:
During this difficult time for public health when we are practicing and encouraging social distancing, it’s our hope that through this partnership with TRON and DLive we can make time at home more interesting for millions of people by offering rewards for watching game streams.
Refereum is a blockchain-based platform that rewards users for streaming, playing and engaging with video games and watching fellow game streamers.
